Hackers Can't Steal What They Can't See

Unfortunately for those of us who use our computers for legitimate personal and business reasons, hackers and identity thieves are getting smarter all the time and have an increasingly sophisticated array of tools and software programs available to help them ply their nefarious trade. Protection software has grown and improved too, but it is a constant struggle to stay ahead of the bad guys and protect our assets. Firewalls have proliferated and are increasingly effective at preventing access to computers, but creative hackers will always find a way to sneak past even the best technology. Use of complex passwords is also a good defense but software is continuously being written to use the power of computers themselves to test an almost infinite array of possible passwords and can often break even the most sophisticated password, given enough time. So, how is one to protect his valuable personal information and assets from theft?

Fortunately, there is a new approach that uses stealth for protection. If a hacker succeeds in bypassing your firewall and breaking your passwords he can, of course, access anything he finds on your computer, including private correspondence, financial records, email addresses of your friends and colleagues, and, most seriously, your credit card numbers, social security number, bank account numbers and passwords, all of which will allow him to steal your identity. But it he cannot find those records on your computer, he cannot steal them and that is how this new technology protects you!

Oversight Technology's new Houdini software actually hides data on your computer so that it does not show up anywhere and no one, including the computer owner himself, can find the hidden data unless he knows the keystrokes necessary to unveil the hidden files. Even Microsoft's “find hidden files” command will not succeed in locating files that are protected by Houdini! This wonder of stealth is also very easy to implement and use: A single screen view allows the user to browse and choose files or folders to transfer into a special folder and then choose to hide that special folder or open it to view. Options allow the user to hide the folder containing the protected files on startup or when the folder is minimized. The user can also password protect the folder for the event that a third person using the computer might inadvertently hit the coded keystroke combination to reveal the hidden folder. When activated, the Houdini folder, and every file and folder it contains, disappears completely from the computer! Therefore, any successful cyber invader has no way of knowing that the protected information is even located anywhere on the computer!

A keylogger might be as simple as a file with an .exe or .dll extension that is placed in a computer and activated upon boot up via an entry in the registry. The more sophisticated keyloggers, such as the Perfect Keylogger or ProBot Activity Monitor have developed a full line of nasty abilities including:

Relieve yourself of any worry of being victimized by a hacker looking for your key financial and identity information by using the best technology available on the market. Try Oversight Technology's Houdini software today with a free 15-day fully functional trial.
